Sievi group's privacy policy

The Sievi Group (hereinafter “Sievi”), which consists of Sievin Jalkine Oy, Sievi Marketing Oy, Sievi AB, Sievi AS, Sievi GmbH and Sievi-Tools Oy, complies with the applicable legislation on personal data processing and data protection when carrying out its activities. This privacy policy describes Sievi’s data protection policies for personal data processing. It takes into account the requirements of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679) and national data protection legislation as well as the guidelines issued by the data protection authority.

2. Grounds for processing personal data

Collecting and processing of personal data is always based on the person’s consent or other legal bases described in the General Data Protection Regulation and data protection legislation, such as a contract or law.

3. Personal data that we collect

The personal data collected and processed is data obtained on the above-mentioned legal bases. The personal data collected includes information on customers, staff and job applicants.

4. How personal data is used

Personal data will only be used for purposes that comply with the person’s consent or with legislation.

5. How personal data is retained

Personal data will only be retained for the required time or the time provided by law, after which data will be disposed of in a secure way.

6. Transfer of personal data

Personal data will not be transferred to third parties without the person’s consent or without a legally justified reason. Data will also not be transferred outside the EU or the EEA.

If data is transferred to a third party based on the above criteria, the data recipient must comply with legislation on the processing of personal data and data protection and with this privacy policy or equivalent privacy principles.

7. Personal data protection measures and destruction of data

Electronic data is protected by technical security measures such as firewalls, security software, usernames and password protection. Hard copy data is stored in locked premises. Personal data is only processed by those persons whose duties require them to do so. Access to personal data by other persons is restricted by technical security measures and by storing hard copy material in locked premises.

8. Necessity and correctness of the data

Only necessary personal data is collected and processed. Best efforts are made to ensure that the data is correct and up to date. Any deficiencies and errors found in the data are corrected.

Sievi’s websites use cookies, which are small text files that are stored on users’ devices. Cookies are used to improve the user experience and services of the website. They are also collected for statistics and developing the website. Cookies can be used to target advertising on social media and other third-party websites on the basis of visits to the website.

Sievi actively follows changes to data protection legislation and updates its privacy policy as necessary to comply with current data protection legislation as well as with the requirements of good processing of personal data and data protection.
